fit

Fit Nutrition is an augmented reality application that
helps capture the users meals and tells them the nutritional values.

ABOUT
Fit Nutrition uses a unique AI system whereby with each photo captured. The AI records the information and feeds the user helpful tips and tricks to keep on track to their goal!

With every mobile application there is a website that goes along with it. Fit Nutrition's website was designed in a way to encourage users to start and learn more about what macros are. Users can also read real life stories on how macro nutrition and the Fit Nutrition app had changed their lives.

WHY?
Individuals are focusing too much on the caloric intake, and they are not informed on the correct nutritional information. A study conducted by Gallop America, 1 in 4 women are unhappy with their weight. Along with 45% of Americans worry about their weight.

The second stigma is only focusing on what the scale says. However, the number on the scale is only one measure of weight change. Weight is influenced by several things, including fluid fluctuations and how much food remains in your system.

When people decide to go on a diet, they automatically feel like they are depriving themselves and their bodies of the foods they want. This is the reason why two out of every five people on a diet quit in the first 7 days! Only 1 out of those 5 end up going strong after a month.

My Role

fit

I was the sole creater and visionary on this project. Fit Nutrition was broken up into three distinct projects; an app, website and editioral. Fit Nutrition was created to help improve the food diary experience. From choosing the typeface to designing the UI, was my creation. I did seek out help from my peers and the target market for the application.

Fit Nutrition was my final thesis project.

Challenges

Differentiating ourselves between the competition: MyFitnessPal

Creating a more intuitive way to track the users daily meals. From the smallest of oils to the largest ounces, without a food scale.

Developing an advance aligorithm whereby the AI is able to learn from the users' interactions, and provide designated information along with helpful articles to help reach the users' goals.

Mission Statement

Let's Get Fit Together!

Solution

The solution is to make an all inclusive design that is both informative and appealing to the target audience; which are millennials.

Design Deliverables
There are three different deliverables from a; website, to a moblie application, and lastly an editorial.

With the current target market being millennials, the most obvious way to appeal to them would be using technology. A website to help market the campaign, is the perfect way to bring awareness to the target market.

The website is just another way to inform the target market, the mobile application is the daily device to help individuals start and stick to their fitness goals.

Lessons Learned

Take the view through the path of least interested. As I count my macros on a daily bases, my perceptive may by more intuitive than a beginner looking to improve their lifestyle. Knowing your audience really helps keep the design direction and choices on the correct path. Constantly asking my peers, for their point of view, seeing the perspective of the end-users. I tried to articulate the clearest path for the deliverables.
