Rise was the theme for the 2018 George Brown College
Year End Show.

ABOUT
George Brown College - RISE 2018 was the year I graduated from the program of Graphic Design. To us graduates RISE meant; to rise to the occasion. This was the final semester for a lot of my fellow classmates. The end of one chapter and beginning of another.

WHY?
Every year George Brown College's future graduates get together to create the theme in which all the thesis projects will be presented in.

My Role

rise

I was the UX/ UI designer for the webiste. The website team was a team of three. My responsibility were to code the website using HTML, CSS, and JQuery. We had to create a site that most represented the theme of RISE. Along with, how users would be interacting with the site; like how information would be comunicated.

Challenges

Gathering information for all other students, across nine different programs.

Creating an experience that represents all nine programs equally.

Delivering a fully working website in a short time frame.

Mission Statement

Now it's our time to RISE.

Solution

The solution is by make an all inclusive way students, family and industry individuals alike can view this years graduates final thesis.

Design Deliverables
There are five different options; post cards, wayfinding, social media, website, and video.

Post cards and e-mailing is the fastest way to communicate to other students, family memebers and industry individuals alike. The post cards include rising feet, that was shot and edited by the year end show team. Wayfinding was how to organized the School of Design during the year end show in a way individuals whom never been to the school, can easily navigate through the school.

Of course, with a fast pace on-the-go demographic, the most logical way to deliver the information would be an on-the go website.

Lessons Learned

Timing in life is everything, every designer can look back at past designs is see new ways to improve. However, due to timing they are put into situations to pick what goes. Going forward in my design, having a steedy schedule where weekly, monthly, even daily milestones could be met. Especially, when garthering information from multiple groups of people is a factor.
